Iwould like to nominate my sister Megan (Unkefer) Lynch. I am not sure why it has taken me this long to nominate her. Megan is a wonderful sister and inspiration to me. The first time I saw XAN letters Megan was making some pretty signs and singing songs out loud. I thought to myself, “What is she doing with all those signs and singing those weird songs?” I was in high school when Megan went to college. She said she couldn’t explain it and it was something I could try if I were to attend Muskingum. Then when Megan came home on the weekends I would always see her XAN letters and secretly want to try them on when she wasn’t looking because I knew she loved those letters a lot. My junior year of high school I came Muskingum for a visit day with the Admission Office and Megan arranged an overnight stay with two Kianus. That weekend I met so many Kianus. After meeting all of them and seeing what great women they were I couldn’t wait until I was allowed to wear XAN letters. I should have known what she was up to (dirty rushing the little sister)!
Megan to this day still carries the values of a Kianu. She is classy, beautiful
and active in her community. My sister is the greatest friend you could ever
have. She is there for you when you need her the most but also there to get
a good laugh in for the day. I always have a great time with Megan and when
the moment is right we sometimes will start to sing a Kianu song (we’ve
all had these moments at some point).
Megan means the world to me and she is not only my sister but my best friend.
I am so honored to share this deeper connection of sisterhood with my very
own sister.
Love in XAN,
Rebekah M. Unkefer
